Painting · Santa Barbara

Kristen M. Walker is a Santa Barbara-based fine artist and graphic designer whose work explores the landscapes and native plants of California’s Channel Islands. Working primarily in acrylic and watercolor, she draws inspiration from time spent hiking, sketching, and painting in the field, using art to encourage a deeper connection with the natural world and an interest in its conservation. Kristen holds a B.A. in Graphic Design from Westmont College and a master’s degree in Communication in Digital Media from the University of Washington. After more than a decade working in graphic design and communications leadership, she launched KM Walker Design, where she now divides her time between fine art and independent design and creative consulting. Kristen is an active member of Santa Barbara’s arts and conservation communities. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of the Santa Barbara Art Association, she is a member of SCAPE and exhibits locally through Gallery 113. She also volunteers with Channel Islands Restoration and donates a portion of sales from her Channel Islands artwork to support local conservation efforts. She is excited to bring her background in art, design and communications to supporting Santa Barbara’s vibrant community of working artists.
